The conference marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the CEI Executive Secretariat and provided a forum for exchanging experiences and fostering in-depth reflection on the functioning of contemporary democracies in Central and Eastern Europe.
The programme featured discussions on topics including the resilience of democratic systems, European integration, the impact of digitalization on governance, the challenges facing the Western Balkans, and the functioning of the Ukrainian state under wartime conditions.
The event brought together representatives of academia, expert communities, and public institutions from across the region, including a delegation from the Institute of Central Europe. It provided an excellent platform for exchanging ideas and engaging in in-depth discussions on the challenges facing contemporary democracies.
During the conference, the Institute of Central Europe also presented a selection of its publications devoted to political, social, economic, and security issues in Central and Eastern Europe.
The conference was held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland and the Rector of the University of Warsaw.
