Professor at the International Relations Department, Institute of Political Science and Public Administration, University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska (UMCS); since 2018 director of the Institute of Central Europe in Lublin; from 2016 to 2019 deputy dean for education at the Faculty of Political Science at UMCS; member of numerous scientific and social association, including: the Society of the Institute of Central and Eastern Europe and the Polish International Studies Association. She was a research fellow at the Faculty of International Relations at the University of I. Franko, Lviv (Ukraine), European Institute of Sussex University (United Kingdom), Université Marseille III (France), Rutgers University (USA), Center for the Study of Post-Communist Societies University of Maryland (USA). She also carried out an individual grant: Polish-Ukrainian Relations in the Context of Systemic Transformation in Poland and Ukraine (Open Society Institute). Her main research interests include: modern diplomacy – the process of evolution of diplomacy, foreign service, public diplomacy, digital diplomacy, diplomacy of non-state actors, paradiplomacy, European Union diplomacy; Eastern policy of Poland – in particular Polish-Ukrainian relations, Eastern Partnership; foreign policy of Ukraine. She is the author and editor of numerous books, including: Contemporary Polish-Ukrainian relations. Doctor Habilitatus (Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland), Associate Professor at the Institute of Political Science and Public Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences, The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. Deputy Director at the Institute of Central Europe. Professor Stępniewski has been involved in a number of research projects dealing with developments in the post-Soviet space while at the same time engaged (by invitation) in expert-level discussions and negotiations on related issues. He was formerly a research fellow at both the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute and the Carnegie Moscow Center. His main research interests include: the EU’s policy towards its eastern neighbourhood, the international relations of the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Russia’s policy towards Eastern Europe. Konrad Pawłowski, PhD (hab.), is the Head of the Balkan Department at the Institute of Central Europe in Lublin, Poland. An assistant professor at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland, Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, Institute of Political and Administrative Studies, Department of International Relations. His research fields include Central and Eastern European studies, peace and conflict studies and international law. Historian and cultural expert. Doctor of humanities in the history field (John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin). In the years 2015-2018 assistant professor at the Institute of Central and Eastern Europe. Leader of the Visegrad Team at the Institute of Central Europe since 2019.
