A new monograph titled Historyk jutra. Portret intelektualny Timothy’ego Snydera, written by Prof. Jan Pomorski, will soon be published by the Institute of Central Europe Press. The book offers an intellectual portrait of one of the most respected scholars of Central and Eastern Europe and traces the development of his academic career and worldview.
The author explores the biographical and intellectual background that shaped Snyder’s work—from his childhood in Hadley Farms, Ohio, and the influence of the Quaker community, to his academic activity at leading research institutions in the United States and Europe. The book also reflects on the relevance of history to the present, the lessons of the twentieth century, and the responsibility of historians to pursue truth with integrity in a world increasingly shaped by post-truth.
