IEŚ Analyst on Fuel Prices and the Energy Market: Media Commentary

In recent weeks, Dr. Michał Paszkowski has given several media interviews and commentaries discussing the impact of developments in the Middle East on Poland’s energy situation. The IEŚ expert’s statements appeared, among others, in Oko.press, Radio Lublin, and in a recording for TVP World.

In his commentary, the analyst addressed in particular:

  • the impact of developments in Iran on Poland’s energy security,
  • the availability of energy resources and price movements for crude oil, natural gas, and other energy commodities,
  • factors influencing fuel prices in Poland, including reserve levels at the ARA fuel hub (Amsterdam–Rotterdam–Antwerp), the availability of petroleum products on the market, and possible supply constraints (Europe imports diesel fuel, among others, from the Middle East and India, while exporting gasoline),
  • maintenance work at European refineries—currently at least eight facilities are undergoing maintenance, which affects fuel supply and prices.

In his statements, Dr. Paszkowski emphasized that the availability of oil and natural gas should remain stable, although prices may fluctuate significantly depending on geopolitical developments and conditions in the global energy market.
