Damian Szacawa, a senior analyst of the Baltic Team at IEŚ (Institute of central Europe) participated in the panel “Estonia, the CBSS presidency & the role of transnational democratic institutions” as part of the CBSS Summer University titled “Balticness in Transition: Exploring Identity and Resilience in the Baltic Sea Region.”
The summer school was held in Tallinn from July 14th to July 21st, 2024. The panel titled “Estonia, the CBSS Presidency & the Role of Transnational Democratic Institutions” focused on the analysis of social resilience, the role of democratic institutions in strengthening cultural resilience, and the potential of the Baltic Sea region to develop a shared identity and resilience. The panel, moderated by Lizaveta Dubinka-Hushcha of the Danish Cultural Institute in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, also featured contributions from Kazimierz Musiał from the Council of the Baltic Sea States, Andreas Sepp from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, and Arthur Purbrick from NATO Forward Land Forces
