Dr. Piotr Oleksy participated in the conference “Addressing the Past – Shaping the Future: Memory Politics in Europe and Canada” organized by Victoria University in Canada. Within the framework of the meeting, he participated in a panel devoted to issues of memory in the Russian war against Ukraine. In his speech, he underlined the importance of the Russian policy of memory for the formation of anti-Western attitudes and the mistakes of Western elites in reading the meaning of this policy.
The discussion was also attended by Dr. Alina Chervitsova from the University of Ghent, prof. George Soroka from Harvard University and prof. Serhiy Yekelchyk from Victoria University.
