The emergence of new threats and challenges shapes the evolving international security landscape. A crucial element gaining increasing prominence within the global security architecture is the growing need for states to strengthen their resilience. This encompasses the development of conditions, resources, and strategies that enable adaptation to diverse and unforeseen circumstances, spanning both physical and cyberspace domains.
We invite submissions in English that critically examine these dynamic processes and phenomena, focusing on the Central and Eastern European region. Papers may address, but are not limited to, the following themes: the evolving security threats and challenges facing East-Central Europe and individual states in the region; the resilience and security of critical infrastructure and digital networks; assessments of Central and Eastern European states in the formation of an European security architecture, and the security strategies employed by states and international organisations. We are particularly interested in research on international security, traditional security threats, and emerging challenges.
We welcome theoretical and empirical contributions offering original perspectives on contemporary security issues in the region. Submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process, and selected papers will be published in our forthcoming issue dedicated to international security in Central and Eastern Europe.
The paper MUST NOT exceed 40,000 characters (of overall length) and MUST be prepared in accordance with the editorial guidelines (https://ies.lublin.pl/en/yearbook/guidelines/).
Please submit your paper proposal of 250–500 words no later than 31 March 2025.
Accepted manuscripts are due in June 2025 and should adhere to the editorial guidelines
Deadline for submissions: 30th June 2025.
