Abstrakt: This paper is an attempt to characterise Vladimir Putin’s new integration project – the Eurasian Economic Union – and most of all its importance for the relations between the Russian Federation and the European Union. The study explores the differences between the European model of integration and the one exhorted by Moscow as well as the potential disadvantageous consequences of the creation of the EEU for the overall security of Central-European states.
